Project Summary
The Sterling Hall of Medicine Library is a multi-room project housed in Yale University’s School of Medicine. There are several adaptable classrooms, meeting rooms and a variety of support spaces that address student needs as education changes to the advancing requirements in medical education. With this installation, IVCi worked with the client to understand what technology would work best to suit the needs not only of the students, but of the faculty that would be utilizing it as well. Each classroom includes features that allow the space to expand to accommodate larger groups or events.
Project Highlights
Amongst many versatile spaces, a central multi-purpose classroom was implemented that replaced a library reading room. Envisioned by The Sextant Group and implemented by IVCi, the flexibility and responsiveness of this Team-Based Learning Classroom is delivered by the Crestron NVX AV over IP system. This system was integrated into the environment to assist with advanced teaching methods provided by the university’s faculty.
Crestron’s reliable and high-performance ecosystem was imperative to delivering ease of control and flexibility within the room, which is a major priority for Yale University across all spaces. Using cutting-edge technology, this system is centrally controlled via the Crestron control system, allowing the benefits of an easy-to-use interface to stand out as an essential feature.
