In August of 2009, I packed my life in a car and drove from Atlanta to Baltimore to start my career with IVCi and my life in Baltimore. I didn’t know what to expect in this new chapter of my life. My first position within the IVCi MD office was as a Junior Technician. With support of my colleagues and supervisors, I was constantly growing in both professional knowledge and independence. I started taking over more complex and challenging jobs, which resulted in a promotion to Lead Technician. My favorite part of being in the field was working with our clients directly, and I enjoyed building relationships and representing IVCi. After a few years, I was offered the position of Field Engineer. This position was very challenging but also very fulfilling. It was a role through which I progressed the most in the terms of knowledge base, troubleshooting, audio programming, site organization skills and site management. Still, direct work with our clients was there as a very important part of responsibilities, which as I mentioned earlier, I have especially enjoyed.
Now, I am a System Engineer. It is a very dynamic role with a wide spectrum of responsibilities. IVCi is a place where you get challenged on a daily basis. We have to demonstrate creativity, problem-solving and solution-oriented skills constantly; you always have tremendous support from both management and peers to get the best work done. I would encourage talented individuals to seek the opportunity to work here. Building relationships with colleagues and superiors, engaging in quick and positive thinking, and creating a good atmosphere of teamwork and individual progress have been highlights of my career at IVCi. Last and not least, as an immigrant from Serbia, I look forward to every day at work knowing that some totally new experience (professional, technical, cultural or personal) will happen. IVCi has such a unique culture because of the genuine care put into every element of the workplace and what we create together. I love it.
When people ask me what it’s like to work for IVCi, two things come to mind: opportunities and company culture.
When I first started at IVCi I joined the drafting team with a strong residential AV background and no real commercial AV experience. I was offered the training and guidance I needed to transition and quickly learned not only how commercial AV worked, but the nearly endless use cases for it. Every day was a new, interesting project. One of my favorite experiences with the drafting team was my opportunity to impact the final drawing set appearance, something I had always wanted to be a part of, but was never given the chance. I was able to help put into place many standards IVCi still uses today, including our unique cable numbering logic. Within two short years, I had attended my first InfoComm, earned my CTS, and learned so much that I was quickly promoted to the System Engineering team! With amazing management and even better mentors, I have found my true calling with this team and have stayed with them ever since. My career with engineering has afforded me even more growth and learning opportunities as I support new and different projects every day. I get to work on everything from camera switching to impressive video walls to multi-tiered auditoriums for higher education facilities.
At IVCi, it doesn’t matter if you report to headquarters or if you live on the opposite coast; everyone is working together towards a collective common goal. Teamwork is my favorite thing about both this company and my team. In System Engineering, none of us even live in the same state! You’d never know it with how seamlessly we work together. Our regular team chats and weekly video calls allow us to stay close and consistent both professionally and personally. As a System Engineer, I am faced with new challenges daily, but at IVCi each challenge is an opportunity to help a coworker, delight a customer, or learn something new! That is my IVCi story.

I started out at IVCi right before the birth of my daughter Vivien. I was nervous to change companies at that time, but was assured in my interview that there would be no issue with paternity leave so soon after starting- in fact when Vivien was delivered and I went on leave 3 weeks after I had started as a project manager, IVCi sent me a baby blanket with Vivien’s name stitched into it as a gift! I was hired as a Project Manager, a role which I held for 3 years, then I was promoted to Senior Project Manager, and a year after that I was promoted to Project Management Office Manager. Along the way I found that IVCi recognizes and rewards hard work, ingenuity, and professional growth– in the course of my career here I was able to achieve PMP certification with my first renewal under my belt. I’ve been fortunate to be entrusted with some of IVCi’s most prestigious projects and customers- from emergency operations centers for managing oil platform in the gulf, to a state of the art neurosurgery 3D media teaching and training video conference suite at University of California San Francisco, to a large scale museum exhibit at the American Natural History Museum, IVCi has put me on a path to work with the most demanding and discerning clients and cutting edge technologies. As a career and as a service provider, IVCi is world class.

I had been in the AV industry for 6 years, when joining IVCi. I like working with technology and seeing a satisfied client impressed and thunderstruck with a completed project, especially at Fortune 500 sites. IVCi has shown that they value my willingness to make sure projects are completed on time and the ability to go above and beyond. I like the fact that IVCi hires people with specific skill sets and has tools in place to ensure knowledge is shared throughout the company. My favorite aspect of working at IVCi would be that everyone has their own responsibilities and that we can rely on subject matter experts to proficiently handle the various components of a project. Our audio engineers and programmers are always willing to do what it takes to get the project complete and I always feel supported by the team regardless of location. Even through the pandemic, I have felt supported by IVCi and my team. IVCi wants to see their employees succeed and are willing to give us the resources needed to keep satisfied employees and clients.
I am the Operations Manager here at IVCi, which means I manage all aspects of our installations. Over 30 extremely talented individuals report to me. I started my career here as a Field Service Technician. Back then, I was the hero out there saving the world by fixing AV systems one boardroom at a time. I thoroughly enjoyed that role and was fortunate enough to acquire several certifications while doing it due to the fact that IVCi has such a strong culture of training and growing their employees. After 4 years of service calls and dozens of certifications later, I decided it was time to spread my wings and move on to the Installation side of things at IVCi. Field engineering was the path I chose to go towards and the Installation team welcomed me with open arms.
With my years of service and my knowledge of AV from the service side of things, I fit right in. Video walls, immersive classrooms, boardrooms, multi-purpose spaces, churches and everything else AV: you name it and I did it. After 3 years, I was ready for more! A role opened up in management and I jumped right on it. This allowed me to take my years of being in the field and apply my knowledge towards helping grow our processes: honing commissioning checklists, instilling best practices, mentoring employees, etc.
Later, I took on the responsibility of our Quality Control Engineering and Fabrication departments. My favorite part of joining the management team, is that I was able to implement “Tech Week”. These are dedicated weeks throughout the year where we focus on perfecting our craft and expanding our skills. It’s been a wild ride and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

I was brought onboard with IVCi as a Senior Field Technician to serve in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia region. This was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen my skills from the service side of the A/V, since I had spent the last 9 years learning the A/V industry from the ground up on the Implementations side of things. IVCi has always provided me with any training I’ve wanted to pursue. There is an open-door policy to all ideas, with accessibility to every level of team management. Over time, this experience has rounded out my full knowledge of how each role played in the A/V industry fit together the right way. Ultimately, I transitioned into a Tier 3 A/V Support Engineer, living and working in North Carolina today. Whether the problems are simple answers, or extremely complex resolutions, working for IVCi has helped me hone my skills to tackle any service needs or escalations that come my way. This has all been made possible because our entire IVCi team is the best in the business at working together to help both its employees and our clients succeed.
Here at IVCi, we are all very fortunate to be surrounded by people who are just as compassionate as they are talented.
I started at IVCi as a complete novice to the AV industry. Since then, I’m happy to say that now I’m an avid video conference user and love our WFH remote culture! I have acquainted myself with the variety of platforms and offerings that makes IVCi so great thanks to our AV and VC subject matter experts. I started my days at IVCi with the Business Development Team. Even though my manager lived in California, I hardly noticed (thanks to video conferencing)! We often started our day with a laugh since our team consists of some very funny, lighthearted people. I also had the pleasure of working with our technical gurus on the Pre-Sales Engineering team. My favorite part about working with the engineering team would be our engineering daily. This reoccurring meeting was more than just catching up on work, but also an opportunity to catch up on life with my fellow peers across the country. Since working with the engineering team, I have the opportunity to work in the sales department as a go-to resource for anything sales admin related. My objective is to support our fellow sales peers to optimize department processes and efficiencies so they can shine. One of my favorite tasks at IVCi is to cultivate relationships between all departments.
I am also chair of the IVCi Wellness Committee. I collaborate with my peers to promote a culture of physical, psychological, and emotional well-being for our employees by providing activities and support that will result in healthier lifestyles. We’ve developed a ton of fun initiatives such as annual biometric screenings, remote fitness photo challenges, national walking and hiking challenges, and our brand-new Wellness Week, which we kicked off in 2019. During our Wellness Week, we offered free acupuncture, free cryotherapy, wellness tests, nutrition talks, food prep presentation, and giveaways for each and every employee at IVCi. All our events and challenges take place on our social enterprise connectivity platform to promote and heighten remote involvement. We continue to have lots of fun brainstorming on activities that involve both our local and remote employees. Truth is that our company culture is unlike any I’ve experienced in my professional career. I am so grateful to work with such an excellent, hardworking and overall outstanding team.
P.S. If you are interested in joining our Wellness Committee, we can’t wait to have you!
